New iMac?
Not sure how we missed this the other day, but Think Secret have some news about the upcoming iMac, which is slated for release during the Apple Expo in Paris on August 31. The specs are nothing to get hugely excited about with up to 160GB drives, 1.8 GHz G5 CPUs, and only a paltry 256 MB of RAM as standard on the education and base level consumer machines. If they look as good as the Cult Of Mac artist’s impression, pictured here, then we might be able to forgive them. You can also upgrade the RAM to 2GB, and they will be Airport Extreme ready.
Apple should acknowledge that some people don’t want a full blown PowerMac and start releasing their iMac in higher spec as standard. At least they seem to have ditched the CRT display in favour of a TFT LCD, that can only keep us happy!
