Telstra Loves Itself.

Bigpond

Telstra is bragging about it’s BigPond Music store, claiming it is revolutionary and a major success. Of course they don’t explain their definition of success, and given that they also claim that “Listen With Your Heart” by Casey Donovan was the number one download, and in the same breath that their biggest demographic is male between 25 and 49, we can’t but wonder if they don’t have a big enough user base. It’s that or Aussie blokes have gone real soft in the last few years.

Telstra are also suggesting they’ll have movie downloads by March, according to an article at news.com.au.

Before the end of March, Telstra will launch a service that allows its internet customers to download films to play on their computers or television sets, BigPond managing director Justin Milne told The Australian.

“I think it would be fair to say we are in a very advanced state with most of the studios,” Mr Milne said.

“We reckon that we will have them pretty much completed over the next few months.”

How new these movies will be, what Digital Rights Management (DRM) they use, and the cost is yet to be seen.
