iPod reaches the 100 million mark
100 million iPod’s sold, that’s quite an achievement. In fact that makes the iPod the fastest selling music player in history.
It took just five and a half years for Apple to reach that number when the iPod was launched in November 2001 and since then has spawned more than 10 new iPod models including smaller versions, low cost shuffle versions and premium video versions.
Not only has the iPod improved and expanded but so has the amount of accessories that hope to make things easier for you such as covers and hard cases to head phones and speaker systems and now more than 70% of 2007-model US automobiles currently offer iPod connectivity.
The question is will Apple have the same success with the mobile phone market when it launches its iPhone or will the gadget prove too costly?
