With the announcement that the PS3 will be sold in Europe in March, retailers have been busy to inform consumers of the many ways in which customers will have to jump through hoops to get their new console.
As with most console launches supplies of Sony?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s next gen console will be in short supply (except in the US, Japan and well nearly everywhere outside of Europe) and early adopters will have to look hard to get one from the get go.
Last Week HMV sent out a newsletter informing their customers that they could have preferential treatment over other pre-orderers if they purchased a PSP when they preordered.
The retailer is offering a bundle costing ?Ǭ£674 (that’s around $1320). The bundle consists of a PlayStation 3 console plus a PSP and PSP games Killzone Liberation and Gangs of London. Now I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m sure there are consumers that would be willing to purchase this deal though I am not one of them. Of course if you have a PSP already or any of the games then the deal really is pointless.
What?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s interesting is that this deal is not a guarantee that you will get a PS3, that relies upon HMV getting enough PS3s for launch so it may be a few weeks until you get to play your PS3.
