PS3 to hit Europe on March 23

Sony have finally revealed when their next generation console will hit European stores. The PS3 was originally going to debut around the world in spring last year but has since been pushed back everywhere and Europeans will be able to purchase a PS3 on March 23.

At ?Ǭ£425 the price is much higher than the next gen offerings from Microsoft (?Ǭ£279.99) and Nintendo (?Ǭ£179.99) however the Ps3 does come with a blu-ray player, but that may become redundant if HD-DVD becomes the next gen format of choice.

Also some gamers may complain that the price is much higher in Britain that can be bought anywhere else in the world. The Americans pay $599 which is roughly ?Ǭ£303 and the Japanese pay 60,000 yen which translates to ?Ǭ£250.

The Uk is set to receive roughly 300,000 and though the console may be pricey there?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s no doubt that they?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll all be gone quickly even if its to flog them on ebay for a ridiculous mark up.

The list of titles for the launch period consist of 30 games some of which will be downloadable for Sony?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Network Platform.
