Slow Take Up Of Digital TV.
TELEVISION manufacturers should be forced by government to include built-in digital receivers in all new TV sets sold in Australia to drive the transition from analogue broadcasting systems to high-quality digital.
Yeah, what a great idea. Why don’t we make consumers pay the price to accelerate adoption of digital TV. That way the networks won’t need to do anything.
Damn morons.
Here’s another suggestion. Why not ensure that all TV networks are innovating and adding new features to digital transmissions, so that consumers will actually want to adopt digital TV to see them. Can’t they understand that having lame documentaries that carry subtitles masquerading as an extra feature isn’t innovative use of the signal.

That’s just silly. Almost all of the TV maufacturers are from overseas and seems like Australia is one of the slowest adopters of digital TV. I dont think big TV manufacturers like Panasonic, Sony, etc are going to put digital tuners in their TV sets just for Australia.
