XBox 2, The Viral Meme Game. Join Team TheGadgetShow.
This weeks buzz has been all about Xbox 2, again. It seems, like last year’s “I love bees” viral marketing campaign, that they’ve started a new one. The new Our Colony “reality game” is being linked to the new XBox 2 game console, evidence coming from many quarters, but the most compelling being J Allard wearing an ant t-shirt in a Gamer Profile photo he used in his GDC keynote. The ant happens to look exactly like the ant in the game. Also, why would the fliers appear close to game shops, or plastered around the Sony Metreon in San Francisco right around the time of the PSP launch. It could also be coincidental that the countdown on the site ends just a few days before E3.
The latest news for the game is the pictures, that many are suggesting is from the new console’s controller. Nice and iPod white.

Our colony is a very interesting “viral” game – the rules are somewhat difficult to determine, probably change and nobody really knows what we’re playing for. However, we still give it a go. Join up – maybe the Gadgetlounge readers can push the profile of gadgetlounge up a bit more.
