China to get 4G before 3G

The world?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s first fourth-generation standard has been launched by China even though the country has yet to launch its long-delayed homegrown 3G.

State Media declared that a group of 10 “leading domestic institutions” called the “FuTURE Project” rolled out 4G in Shanghai on Sunday.

The high speed system that surpasses the previous 3G will allow data transmission at up to 100 megabytes per second so that mobile phone users can receive data much more quickly.

Most analysts expect 3G to hit China later this year.
